Lessor Weever Fish

The Lessor Weever Fish or Echiichthys Vipera is a very dangerous fish. They are know to sting unsuspecting waders in shallow water and fisherman in nets. You see these fish will burrow themselves under sand with just their sharp spines sticking out. They can be extremely hard to stop and often people step on them and wonder just what happened.

If stung immediately wash the wound, and then immerse it in hot water for at least an hour, in order to ease the pain and help break down the poison. The Weever Fish comes in 8 different varieties. It is found in the Mediterranean Sea, North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. This species of Weever Fish is a very small fish and can only grow to 13 cm.
