Talking Catfish (Acanthodoras spinosissimus)

The Talking Catfish is also known as the Spiny Catfish or Acanthodoras spinosissimus. The Talking Catfish gets his name from a strange croaking noise that it makes from time to time. They are not particularly a great aquarium fish, because like most Catfish they are nocturnal. Half the time you won't even see them unless the lights are off. These fish will also bury themselves under pebbles and can disturb plant life in your tank. The Talking Catfish should be handled with care, their dorsal and pectoral fins are extremely sharp.
